DLTA League Rules 1. Purpose The Draft League Tennis Association (DLTA) is established for the purpose of promoting a Fun and Equitable Tennis playing experience. 2. 2022 Leagues Winter Jan 3rd-Feb 28 (Mondays) Spring League will be March 24-May 26. Registration will end on March 14th and the draft will be held the week of March 14th. Summer June 7th - July 26 (Tuesday) Fall (1) Aug 8th - Sept 26 (Monday) Fall (2) Oct 6th - Dec 15th (Thursday) 3. Player sign up and participation Each player must have a player profile with TopDog tennis. You already have one if you played in the BATA league. So no need to create another profile. **By signing up, you are stating that you will be available to play on a majority of nights that the league is scheduled to play** . The Spring league is a Thursday night league! $10 Registration fee will be charged for each season. Participation in DLTA leagues will be on an individual basis. Each player will sign up and be drafted by any active captain for the season. When signing up there will be only one team listed. The "Pool" team. Everyone signs up to this team which will create the "pool" for the Draft.
The Draft will be held after registration ends, using a round robin, snake format. After the Draft we will create more teams (# depending on amount of players) and move each player to their drafted by team. Players will be contacted by their team captains when the draft is completed. Currently DLTA is only set up for players 3.5 or below, using their usta NTRP rating. If you do not have an NTRP rating, the league Administrator will decide on a case by case basis. 4. Teams Through the draft process, teams will have an equal number of players on the roster and the skill level should be balanced for each team Depending on player availability for a particular match the court lineup should be based on skill level as much as possible. Schedules, scores and standings are available on the website. 5. Play Matches will consist of 1 singles court and 4 Doubles courts. Matches will be played at MTC, Oakwood, or Spirit Park. This will depend on Captains Home court choice for their team. Home teams will provide balls for each court and pay courts fees (if applicable) Matches will be the best 2 out of 3 sets with all ties broken at 6-all through a set tiebreak (the first to 7 points winning by 2). 3rd set tiebreak will be a 10pt or a full set. This should be decided by the players on the court at the time of play. 6. Captains The Draft process adds some fun into being a captain. To make and keep this league successful we will always need volunteers to be captains. If you would like to volunteer to be a captain and participate in the Draft process please let me know. As a Thank you, Registration fees will be waived for the Captains.
